Everyone in Ancient History was Here!
Syria
has an immensely rich history and spectacular archaeological
sites. From the remains of the Stone Age to the magnificence
of the Ottomans, Syria has felt the tide of history - Sumer,
Assyria, Babylon, Persia, the Hellenistic Age, Rome, Parthia,
the Byzantines, the Ummayads, Abbasids, Crusaders and Ayyubids
- they have all left their mark.
The
Road to Damascus
Syria
was also the place where Christianity spread among the gentiles
and Damascus was the city where St Paul first preached the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are still a large number of
ancient churches in Syria, many dating to the early centuries
of the Byzantine Empire like the Church of St Simeon Stylites.
Where
every prospect pleases
Syria is the most pleasant country of the Middle East. The
people are really hospitable and the food and wines are excellent.
Its scenery ranges from Côte dAzur style Mediterranean,
through the coastal mountains, haunt of Crusader knights,
to the real Mesopotamia of the Euphrates, and from the lush
wheat lands of the Orontes to the Syrian Desert.
We
can organise a private tour for you. Why not combine Syria
with Jordan ?
