Nesting frigate birdsHaving developed this tour for our Alumni travellers, we are delighted to offer another of our Galapagos tours, which includes eight days on board a first-class yacht. We have chartered CORAL II , a German built cruiser expressly refurbished for the Galapagos. She has 11 spacious air conditioned outside cabins – 5 Junior Suites & 6 Moon and Cabins - all with double or twin beds and private toilet/shower.

The tour begins in Quito, high in the Andes, and the northern extent of the Inca Empire. We visit Colonial Quito, with its many churches and protected buildings, plus a tour of the Avenue of the Volcanoes, among stunning scenery.

Frigates & Boobies

The Galapagos Islands are home to an amazing variety of wildlife and birds – red and blue footed boobies, frigate birds, giant tortoises, marine iguanas, sea lions and many more.

Accompanying scholar

Andy Bennett is a Reader in Behavioural Ecology at the School of Biological Sciences, University of Bristol. With a focus on birdlife, Andy’s research includes Australia, Patagonia, and the UK. Andy did his PhD on evolutionary biology at Oxford. He came to Bristol in 1994 to and was appointed to a Readership in 2003.

Cost includes
return international and regional flights, UK departure tax, transfers, all meals as per itinerary, all excursions, expert leader and local guide. Not included are special taxes, insurance, foreign departure tax, drinks, and tips to crew & local guides.
