Ocean Jewel of Southern Africa
Mozambique is a massive country stretching from Natal in
the south to Tanzania in the north, over 1200 miles of pristine
tropical coastline. Although the wildlife will be a while
coming back into the parks, Mozambique is a great add-on to
a South African safari.
Fly
from Jo’burg to Maputo and stay at one of the several
rebuilt and simply great beach hotels , and experience the
best prawns in the world! Maputo is rapidly transforming into
a thriving city – great atmosphere and excellent Portuguese
cuisine.
Islands and Reefs
Or travel north to the Bazaruto Archipelago, exquisite coral
islands off the coast, or to Mozambique Island, the first
Portuguese capital of the country in the 16th century. The
fort with its cannons still looks out on the prawn and lobster
fishermen. And those lobsters … THIS big!You can now
fly right up north to the Pemba Beach Hotel, the essence of
luxury. Or you can fly down to Pemba from Tanzania.
There are great opportunites for snorkelling, diving or just
relaxing in the sun with cold beer and prawns. It’s
a place to visit before the tourists get there!
